WARREN, Ark. (1/29/26) – The Arkansas Department of Health recently announced that Bradley County Medical Center achieved Pearl Status for Door to CT Time as the ADH released its awards for outstanding performance in stroke patient care for the reporting period of July 2024 through June 2025.
BCMC’s Pearl Status reflects an 85% to 89.99% level of adherence and is based on key performance measures from the Arkansas Stroke Registry. This award recognizes the care, consistency, and teamwork that our Emergency Room Department conveys to patients showing signs of a stroke. “Time is brain” is a common phrase used to emphasize how quickly human nervous tissue is rapidly lost as stroke progresses so making sure patients receive the right care at the right time is critical.
“Arkansas’s healthcare professionals continue to demonstrate exceptional dedication to improving stroke care,” said Bala Simon, MD, DrPH, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and State Chronic Disease Director at the Arkansas Department of Health. “Their teamwork, commitment to quality, and focus on timely, evidence-based care are helping save lives and strengthen outcomes for patients across the state.”
BCMC would like to remind the community to “BE FAST” when it comes to signs of a stroke.
B – Balance loss or dizziness.
E – Eyesight problems such as blurred vision, sudden loss of vision, or double vision in one or both eyes.
F – Face drooping to one side or uneven.
A – Arm weakness, numbness, or unable to raise both arms.
S – Speech difficulty such as slurred speech.
T – Time to call 911 if someone suddenly has one or more of these stroke signs.
