Bradley County jury finds James S. Pope not guilty in rape allegation case

WARREN, Ark. – A Bradley County jury returned a not guilty verdict last Thursday in the case of James Pope, who had been charged in 2024 with rape involving a minor.

Court records show the verdict was reached following a jury trial in Bradley County Circuit Court. According to the standard verdict form filed in the case, the jury found Pope not guilty of the charge.

Pope was originally charged in early 2024, and the case had proceeded through the court system before being heard by a jury last week.

The verdict form was signed by the jury foreman and filed with the Bradley County Circuit Clerk’s Office on Thursday.
