Gerald Dean Burton, 1927-2026

Gerald Dean Burton, age 98, of Warren, died January 26, 2026 at Dalton’s Place in Star City.  He was born July 5, 1927, in Belfast, AR to Venice and Earl Burton.  He was a retired banker and member of the Warren First Baptist Church for sixty years where he served as Deacon.

He is survived by  his brother, Bill Burton (Kay) of Little Rock; daughters, Diane Dockery of White Hall and Karen Place (Scott) of Gillett;  Wayne Cash, son of his late wife, Mary;  three grandsons, Shawn McDougale (Angie) of Sheridan, Seth Place (Shanna) and Tyler Place (Laura Beth) , both of Gillett, Tyler Cash of Woodlawn.  He leaves behind eight great-grandchildren:  Parker Place (Shea), Sydney Brown (Jeremiah), Trent Place, Sam Place, Braxton Place, Ben Place, Blake Williams (Shelby), Luke Williams (Gracie), and Laythan Cash;  Great-great grandchildren:  Naomi and Leonie Brown,  Ellanore, Colt, L.J., and Oliver Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Venice and Earl Burton; brother, Aaron (Melba); sister, Melba Yancey (JB); wife, Sarah Burton (1947- 2003), wife, Mary Cash Burton (2015-2025), and son-in-law, Sam Dockery.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 4, at Frazer’s Chapel in Warren, visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery, Poyen, AR at 2:00 p.m. by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
