HERMITAGE, Ark. — The Hermitage School District will be closed on Thursday, January 29, 2026, due to refreezing ice-covered roadways and hazardous icy patch conditions, particularly along rural routes.
According to Superintendent LaDonna Spain, district officials are continuing to monitor road conditions daily as winter weather impacts persist across the area. Safety concerns for students, staff, and families remain the district’s top priority.
Residents are encouraged to use extreme caution if travel is necessary, especially as temperatures are expected to drop overnight, increasing the likelihood of refreezing on roadways.
The Hermitage School District stated that updates will continue to be shared as conditions are evaluated.
