MORO BAY, Ark. – Officials with Moro Bay State Park are urging residents to avoid travel after worsening sleet conditions overnight into Sunday left roads unsafe across the park and surrounding areas of southwestern Bradley County.
In a social media post shared Sunday morning, park representatives said road conditions were not safe for visitors and shared photos showing sleet-covered ground, icy roadways and frozen landscapes throughout the park. The update noted that conditions have deteriorated since Saturday, with additional sleet accumulating overnight.

The images show slick surfaces near park entrances and along the Ouachita River, underscoring the hazardous travel conditions caused by prolonged winter precipitation.
Local officials continue to encourage residents to stay off the roads unless travel is absolutely necessary, as sleet and ice remain difficult to treat and can quickly lead to dangerous driving conditions. Park staff did not indicate when conditions may improve.
Residents are advised to monitor local weather updates and official announcements before attempting travel in the area.
