Woodlawn students selected for Arkansas Boys State and Girls State

WOODLAWN — The Woodlawn School District has announced that four students have been selected to attend the prestigious Arkansas Boys State and Arkansas Girls State leadership programs this summer.

According to a post from Woodlawn School District, Cash Hargis and Seth Parker were chosen to attend Arkansas Boys State, while Alivia Nixon and Leah Brewer were selected to attend Arkansas Girls State.

Boys State and Girls State are highly regarded leadership and civics programs sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. The programs provide students with hands-on experience in government, civic responsibility, and leadership through a weeklong immersive experience.

Students are selected for Boys State and Girls State based on demonstrated leadership abilities, strong character, and a commitment to service.

School officials congratulated the students on their achievement and expressed confidence that they will represent Woodlawn well during their time at the statewide programs.
