Jemie Davis, 1953-2026

Jemie Davis, 73, of Banks, passed away February 11, 2026. Born January 16, 1953, to the late George and Cleo Davis. A devoted man of God, Elder Davis faithfully served in the Church of God in Christ 

(COGIC) district for over 30 years as a pastor. He faithfully pastored Monticello #1 COGIC in Monticello, AR. for over 15 years, where he shepherded the congregation with wisdom, humility and love.

Jemie graduated from Hermitage High School. Affectionately known as “Jemie Earl” to family and friends, he was well known for his athletic ability and was a great basketball player in his younger years.

He enjoyed bringing joy to others through singing and his big sense of humor. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising animals and riding his four-wheeler. Jemie worked and retired from Potlatch Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Cleo Davis; wife, Mary Ann Davis; son, Celento Williams; siblings, Carloyn Scott, Georgia Lee Cooper, Jessie Ray Davis, James Davis, Ricky Davis,

MacArthur Davis; sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Beanie) Davis, Linda Talley; brother-in-law, Odell Clark.

He is survived by his children, Latrice Davis of Lancaster, CA., Catina Newton of Warren, AR., Derek Davis (Jordianna) of Bentonville, AR., Nicole Johnson (Charles) of Bryant, AR., grandchildren, Fred Newton, Asa Patton, Kattrina Johnson, Brandon Johnson, TaMia Clayton, Johnathan Chandler; great grandchildren, Zaydon Newton, Everly Newton, Cameron Williams; siblings, Anthony Davis (Ruthie)

of Warren, AR., Roy Davis (Dorothy) of Banks, AR., Annie Jean Miller (Larry), Darlene Clark both of Las Vegas, NV., Georgia Pearl Digby (Charles) of Clarksville, TN.; sisters-in-law, Betty Davis, Princella

Davis both of Warren, AR.; brothers/sisters-in-law, Robert Palmer, Larry Palmer, Alfred Palmer, Junie Palmer, Carmen Elisa Palmer, Jackie Collins, Lisa Morgan all of Hartford, CT.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held February 21 at Hermitage Community Center, Hermitage, AR. with Supt. Kelly Owens officiating. Burial was in Hall Cemetery, Banks, AR. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
