NASHVILLE, Ark. – The Warren Lady Jacks saw their season come to a close Wednesday night in the 4-4A Regional Tournament at Nashville High School, falling 66-52 to the Arkadelphia Lady Badgers in the first round.

The matchup was a tough draw from a very talented conference that includes Camden Fairview Lady Cardinals and Nashville Lady Scrappers. Arkadelphia had already handed Warren one of its only two regular-season losses.
Arkadelphia got out to a quick start, building an 8-2 lead in the opening four minutes and holding a 16-12 advantage with 7:12 left in the second quarter. The Lady Jacks responded midway through the period.
At 6:02 in the second, Breyze Fellows hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 17-15. Nyla Simmons tied the game at 19-19 with a free throw at the 4:49 mark, and later battled inside for a rebound and basket to even the score again at 21-21.
Arkadelphia answered with a couple of baskets, including a three to extend its lead to 28-21. Charlee Wardlaw scored inside with :59 remaining in the half to make it 30-23, but a banked shot at the buzzer gave Arkadelphia a 32-23 lead at halftime.
The third quarter opened with both teams working through turnovers. Bayleigh Miller provided a lift at 6:34, converting a tough shot and free throw to make it 32-26. She later added two free throws to cut the margin to 36-30.
Fellows connected on another three-pointer at 2:09 to make it 38-34, and Alyssa Calbert followed with a three at the :52 mark to pull Warren within 40-38. Arkadelphia responded late in the quarter, but Fellows scored before the buzzer to close the gap to 43-40 heading into the fourth.
Arkadelphia extended the lead to 46-40 early in the final quarter. Miller answered with a steal and jumper to make it 46-44, keeping Warren within reach. The Lady Badgers then converted on a steal and transition opportunities to build the lead to 53-44.
Wardlaw knocked down a three at 4:23 to cut it to 53-47, and Miller added an offensive rebound and putback at 2:45 to make it 57-50. Arkadelphia controlled the final minutes, stretching the lead to 66-50 before Livi McKinney added a late jumper to set the final at 66-52.
The loss ends Warren’s season at 27-3 overall. Two of those three defeats came against Arkadelphia. The Lady Jacks also claimed the 8-4A Conference Championship and finished 10-0 in conference play.
