Bonnie Maridel Hooper Outlaw, age 91, of Warren, AR, died peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026. She was born in Warren on March 29, 1934 to the late Torry M. and Lillie M. Burns Hooper. Two years after she finished at Warren High School, she married her sweetheart, W.T.Outlaw, on April 7, 1953. She worked at French’s store downtown, as a seamstress at Jack Winter, and later as an office assistant at Warren Tire before retiring to keep her grandchildren.
She was a lifelong churchgoer and attended Warren First Assembly of God, where she was the long-time children’s church leader, and so many generations of children grew up with Sister Bonnie and have fond memories of singing children’s worship songs with her. Along with several other church members, she also visited the nursing home every Tuesday and regularly made cakes for the residents. She spent much of her life serving the Lord and serving the members of her church family and the community, exhibiting the unconditional love Jesus Christ has called all of us to show.
She always had a song in her heart and knew a Southern gospel song for any occasion. She could sing countless hymns by heart and knew Hymns of Glorious Praise from cover to cover. She liked to fish with her sister, Zelma. She loved gardening, and her green thumb could always make beautiful flowers grow and often bring ailing ones back to life. She was also known for her delicious food, especially her cakes, pies, and other desserts that were a hit at the church bazaar each year, as well as her chicken and dressing that was always popular at church potlucks.
She had a servant’s heart, and she was a loving and nurturing caregiver to many, including her mother and mother-in-law in their later years. After raising four children, of whom she was so proud, she was the most wonderful MeMe to her four grandchildren. In all these ways, she lived a life of selfless love for others, and she leaves a lasting Christian legacy with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.T. Outlaw; her brother, Billy Mack Hooper, who died in childhood; and her sister, Zelma Rae Cook. She is survived by her four children: Cynthia Outlaw of Camden, Felecia Bennett and husband Bobby of Warren, Terrell Outlaw and wife Theresa of Monticello, and Tim Outlaw and wife Linda of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her four grandchildren: Dr. Kerri Bennett of Jonesboro, Trey Outlaw and wife Brittney of Farmington, Brittany Freeman and husband Walt of Monticello, and Dr. Kyle Outlaw and wife Taylor of Birmingham, Alabama; her seven great-grandchildren: Caleb Rice and Creed Bennett of Monticello, Annie and Deacon Outlaw of Birmingham, Alabama, Caroline Outlaw of Farmington, and Logan and John Wyatt Freeman of Monticello; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 at First Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at Frazer’s Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church or The Gideons International.
