HERMITAGE, Ark. — The Hermitage Branch Library will host a geocaching workshop titled “How Not to Feel Like a Newbie” on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The event is designed to help newcomers gain confidence in the popular outdoor activity of geocaching. The presentation will be led by Ken Mercer and members of the Middle Tennessee Geocachers Club.
Geocaching is a real-world treasure hunt that uses GPS-enabled devices such as smartphones to locate hidden containers, known as geocaches. Participants typically use a geocaching app or GPS coordinates to find the caches placed by other players.
According to event organizers, the workshop will provide helpful guidance for beginners who may feel unsure about how to get started or how to improve their geocaching skills. Attendees will learn tips and strategies aimed at helping them become more successful in their geocaching journeys.
The program will last approximately one hour and 30 minutes and is open to the public, including those who do not have Facebook accounts.
The event will take place at the Hermitage Branch Library in Hermitage.
