NEW EDINBURG, Ark. (3-23-26) — Members of Re-New-ing Edinburg met March 17 at the New Edinburg Community Center to review recent events, discuss ongoing projects, and plan for several upcoming community activities.

Under old business, members noted that a game night held February 26 was well attended. Due to several upcoming events, another game night was not scheduled at this time.

Patricia McClellan reported that the final four bricks for the Veterans Park have been ordered and are expected to arrive soon. There are currently no plans to expand the park. Preparations are underway for the All School Reunion set for April 18 at the New Edinburg Community Center. In light of the passing of longtime supporter Frankie Hall, who had previously contributed raffle items, members approved spending up to $300 from the reunion account for raffle items, cupcakes, tablecloths, and decorative beads. Vicky Haycox will prepare name tags for the event.

Re-New-ing Edinburg is also participating in the Great American Spring Trash Pickup, with cleanup efforts already underway. Flower boxes in the downtown area are being repaired and will be replanted ahead of the reunion as part of the spring cleanup.

Information was shared regarding a Cleveland County Cleanup Day scheduled for May 2. With several members already committed to other events, coordination of a local cleanup effort was tabled until the group’s next meeting on April 21.

Members were also informed of a Cleveland County Judge forum scheduled for March 19 at Bethel 2 in Rison.

The meeting adjourned following a motion by David Kemp, seconded by Martha Tolano.
