WARREN, Ark. (3/19/26) – The Warren High School baseball squad used a six-run first inning and received a solid pitching effort in an 11-1 run-rule victory to open 4A-8 conference action Thursday evening at the Warren City Complex.

The Jacks improved to 2-4 overall on the season and are 1-0 in the conference. The Wildcats fell to 1-3 overall and 0-1. Warren outhit the visitors 13-4, but did leave 12 runners on base. Ren Reep and Parker O’Neal combined to throw six innings on the mound. Reep was efficient with three plus innings pitched on 34 pitches. The senior allowed one unearned run on one hit with one strikeout. O’Neal relieved him in the fourth inning and struck out the side as he allowed no runs on two hits with five punchouts.
The Orange and Black got on the scoreboard in the opening frame when Jackson Denton doubled home Tucker McDiarmid. Reep scored on a wild pitch before O’Neal recorded an RBI single to push the score to 3-0. Ryan Spears doubled home another run and later scored on an error to set the lead at 5-0. Ty Hembree drove home the final run of the inning with a sacrifice fly for a 6-0 advantage.
Hembree added another RBI on a fielder’s choice in the second inning to stretch the score to 7-0. Aceen Jurado and McDiarmid led off the third inning with back-to-back singles with Jurado scoring from second base on a deep fly out by Denton to put the score at 8-0. The lead swelled to 9-0 when O’Neal singled home McDiarmid. Watson Chapel would score its only run of the contest on an error in the fourth inning to get within 9-1.
The Jacks then clinched the run-rule victory in the bottom of the sixth after Tucker McDiarmid was driven home by Denton and Reep scored on a wild pitch.
McDiarmid reached base in every at-bat for the home team with two singles and three walks and scored three times. Denton registered three RBIs, while O’Neal and Hembree drove in two apiece.
The Lumberjacks will play in the Pulaski Robinson Spring Break Invitational next time out. Warren is scheduled to play two games on Thursday, March 26 against Malvern and 6 p.m. and versus Mayflower following the first game.
