WARREN — A Warren High School student has taken the next step toward both military service and higher education after enlisting in the Arkansas Army National Guard.
Nicholas Dickens, a junior at Warren High School, officially enlisted as a 92G, a food service specialist, according to information shared in a social media announcement. Through his enlistment, Dickens plans to take advantage of Guard benefits as he works toward a degree in computer science.
As part of his service commitment, Dickens will serve one weekend each month while receiving a range of benefits. These include college tuition and fees being waived, a monthly paycheck, federal tuition assistance, and the opportunity to earn college credit hours through military training. The Guard will also provide skills intended to help him transition into a career after completing college.
Dickens’ enlistment marks an early start toward both his professional and educational goals while continuing his studies at Warren High School.
