RISON, Ark. — A countywide effort to clean up roadsides and public areas across Cleveland County is set for Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to noon, with multiple volunteer locations available, including one in Kingsland.
The Cleveland County Clean Up is organized by the Cleveland County Master Gardeners and County Cultivators and is co-hosted by Keep Arkansas Beautiful. Volunteers will gather at designated locations to pick up supplies before heading out to remove litter throughout their communities.
One of the available sites will be in Kingsland at Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church, located at 200 First Street. Residents in the Kingsland area can meet there to receive cleanup supplies and help target nearby roadways and community spaces.
Additional locations include the Cleveland County Courthouse in Rison, located at 20 East Magnolia Street, which will serve as the primary gathering point, and the Woodlawn School District at 6760 U.S. Highway 63. Students in grades 9 through 12 can earn volunteer hours by participating at either of those locations.
Organizers said groups will meet at their selected site, pick up supplies, and then head out to collect litter across the county. After the cleanup, volunteers are invited to return to the courthouse in Rison, where hot dogs and drinks will be provided.
A fourth location is pending at the New Edinburg Community Center.
