HERMITAGE, Ark. — A reminder for those interested in learning the basics of geocaching: the Hermitage Branch Library will host a workshop titled “How Not to Feel Like a Newbie” on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The program is designed to help beginners gain confidence in geocaching, a popular outdoor activity that uses GPS-enabled devices or smartphone apps to locate hidden containers known as geocaches.
The workshop will be led by Ken Mercer and members of the Middle Tennessee Geocachers Club. Organizers say the presentation will offer helpful tips and guidance for those who are new to geocaching or looking to improve their skills.
Geocaching has grown in popularity as a family-friendly activity that blends technology with outdoor exploration. Participants use coordinates or a mobile app to search for containers hidden by other players in parks, trails, and other locations.
The event will last approximately 90 minutes and is open to the public.
The workshop will take place at the Hermitage Branch Library in Hermitage.
