Curtis Edward Denton, age 74 of Warren, AR passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Pine Bluff, AR. Curt was born May 21, 1951 at the Crow Clinic in Warren, AR to the late Curtis C. Denton and Ida Nell Roebuck Denton.
Preceding Curt in death, in addition to his parents, was his daughter, Lindsey Denton Watson in 2015.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Dana Deal Denton of Warren, AR. Sisters Sue Kennedy of Jupiter, FL, Robbie Uekman (Sandy) of North Little Rock, AR, Charlotte Denton of El Dorado, AR. Sons Chase Denton (Isabel) of Alexander, AR and John Denton (Dana Varner) of Timnath, CO. Grandchildren, Cole Denton of Bryant, AR, Baylor Watson and Presleigh Watson of Stuttgart, AR, Lydia Denton and Clark Denton of Timnath, CO.
More than anything else, Curt was a devoted family man and loyal friend. Curt always made time for his children and grandchildren. He made clear how proud he was of them all, and you could count on him to be up for anything they wanted to do, especially if it was outdoors. He loved nature and was an avid hunter, specifically, waterfowl, hog, turkey, and deer in that order. Curt was a Christian and spent countless hours admiring the “Good Lord’s” creation as he would often say. That appreciation for the outdoors was instilled in his children. He enjoyed these activities across the state and country with his family, friends, and dogs, but his favorite places were always the Moro Creek and Ouachita River Bottoms.
Curt worked for Denton Roofing, Inc. from its early days in the 1960s, and he took over the company from his father in the mid-1980s. Curt ran the business until his retirement in 2022. He took great pride in the quality of his work and would always point out roofs he had completed across southern Arkansas, many of which have and will last for many more decades. He employed dozens of people over the years, and he made sure all 3 of his children had a turn at his craft to give them an appreciation for hard work and the satisfaction of a job well done.
Curt truly enjoyed being productive and helping others. He always felt the need to accomplish something every day even while battling Parkinson’s disease and other ailments over the past 10 years. His last 3 years were especially difficult, but he maintained a positive, can-do attitude until the end. He will be missed so much by all those he loved and in turn those that loved him, but he definitely “left things better than he found them” as he would say.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your chosen charity. If you would like suggestions, those that aid in the research, education, and treatment of Parkinson’s disease would be appropriate. As per Curt’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time, but there will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
