LITTLE ROCK — Pulaski Academy has announced the addition of former NFL wide receiver Jarius Wright to its football program, hiring the Warren High School alum as an assistant coach for the Bruins.

The announcement was made Thursday by Pulaski Academy Athletics, welcoming Wright to the staff after his most recent coaching stop at Sylvan Hills.

Wright, a former Warren Lumberjack, built an impressive football career that began in Southeast Arkansas before reaching the highest levels of the sport. After graduating from Warren High School, he went on to star at the University of Arkansas, where he became one of the program’s most productive receivers. Wright set the school’s career record for receiving yards and also holds the single-season record for touchdown receptions.

He was selected in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings and spent eight seasons in the league, also playing for the Carolina Panthers. Known for his reliability and clutch performances, Wright carved out a long professional career before transitioning into coaching.

Pulaski Academy officials said Wright brings valuable experience from both the collegiate and professional levels, as well as a recent background in high school coaching.
