The Rotary Club of Warren met Tuesday, May 26 inside the Fellowship Hall at First Methodist Church for its final meeting of the month. The group listened to Warren High School Junior Rotarian William Thornton to kick the meeting off.
Rotarian Donna Lawhon followed with her program and introduced Nora Pacheco of the Pink Tomato Festival committee. Pacheco began by letting the crowd know that there will not be brochures printed this year, but there will be a QR code people can scan on their cell phones to view a digital copy of the brochure. There will be several posted around the square and elsewhere in an effort to reduce the amount of trash. Pacheco noted a few sponsorship changes and said the Arkansas Superior Federal Credit Union will sponsor this year’s fireworks show. The complete schedule of events is still being finalized, but it will feature most of the same events from years prior. The 70th Annual Pink Tomato Festival will officially start on Saturday, June 6 with the pageants at the Hermitage Community Center. The Gospel Music Jamboree is scheduled for Thursday, June 11 at Immanuel Baptist Church. The main days with activities on the square are Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13. The PTF T-shirts are now on sale as well and can be purchased at any bank or the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce. Pacheco answered a couple of questions before the meeting was adjourned. The Rotary Club of Warren will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, June 9.
