RISON, Ark. – Residents of Rison and the surrounding area will have an opportunity to enjoy great food, shop local vendors, and support local students during the upcoming Food Truck Friday & Farmers Market event on Friday, June 19, at Pioneer Village.

The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pioneer Village, located at 200 Yaney Drive in Rison. Organizers say the community gathering will feature food trucks, local farmers and artisans, family-friendly games and activities, and a fundraiser benefiting the Rison School Supply Drive.

Freedom Assembly is spearheading the school supply drive and will be serving barbecue chicken and hamburgers during the event. Proceeds will help provide school supplies for local students ahead of the upcoming school year.

In addition to food and shopping opportunities, attendees will also have a chance to participate in a silent auction featuring a wide variety of donated items. One of the featured prizes is a YETI cooler filled with merchandise and gifts. Raffle tickets are available for $3 each or five tickets for $10, with the winner to be announced during the June 19 silent auction.

Auction and raffle items include coolers, a tent, camouflage gear, Carhartt pants, an 18-karat diamond necklace, a handmade quilt, hunting equipment, gift certificates from local businesses, baskets filled with goodies, and more.

Organizers encourage area farmers market vendors to participate and invite families to come out for an evening of food, fellowship, and community support.

“This week’s event serves as a fundraiser for the Rison School Supply Drive spearheaded by Freedom Assembly,” organizers said. “Come get some great food and support a great cause.”

The event is being hosted through a partnership between Rison Shine, Pioneer Village at Rison, Freedom Assembly, and the Rison Farmers Market.

Community members are encouraged to come hungry, shop local, and help support students as they prepare for the new school year.
