The Bradley County Fair and Livestock Show is inviting the public to nominate local residents to participate in its dunking booth fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.
Community members may nominate a local celebrity, coach, teacher, business owner, first responder, political candidate or anyone else they believe would be a good sport for the event. Nominations should be submitted in the comments section of the fair’s Facebook post, with one person named per comment.
Residents may also vote for their preferred nominees by liking the comment containing that person’s name. The nominees receiving the most support may be selected to take the plunge during the fair.
Participants will be able to purchase three balls for $5 in an attempt to hit the target and send a volunteer into the dunk tank.
Organizers said the event is intended to be lighthearted and respectful, with volunteers who are willing to laugh, have fun and help raise money for the community.
All proceeds from the dunking booth will benefit the Bradley County Fair.
