The Rotary Club of Warren met Tuesday, August 25 for their second meeting of the month inside the Donald W. Reynolds YMCA of Warren and Bradley County. The program began with the first two Junior Rotarians, Jackson Denton and Aryam Rojo, of the 2026-27 school year making their speeches. Both students were well-spoken and informed the club about their current accolades and future plans.
Rotarian Leeanna Williams then introduced her program of Deedre Pierce, Director of Radiology at Bradley County Medical Center. Pierce went over the amount of imaging tests that can be done at BCMC, which include mammography, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, Nuclear Medicine, and Bone Density. She said it’s important to offer these services to our community and said you do not have to travel to another facility to get these tests done. Additionally, the wait times are lower at BCMC, and she said her staff has the ability to connect with patients and not treat you just as a number or chart like you may get at larger facilities. She went into more detail about mammograms and the importance of early detection. She also gave different examples of how each test can be used and the benefits of each before ending her presentation. The Rotary Club of Warren’s next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 8.
