Tommy Ray Boswell, 72, of Warren, passed away July 25, 2026. Born May 8,1954, to the late Lawrence Sr. and Betty Ruth Dunlap Boswell. He was a proud graduate of Warren High School, where he developed a love for basketball, becoming a talented player.
Tommy Ray accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. John AME Church.
Tommy Ray later relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he worked for Babcock and Wilcox Tubing Products until the company closed. He then returned home to Warren and began working at Potlatch Corp., where he remained until his retirement and began enjoying a life of leisure.
Tommy Ray and his brother, Lawrence Jr. built a place where they and the guys could gather, shoot pool, watch sports and share stories. He became affectionately known as “Papa Rock.” Each year, Papa Rock hosted a Christmas party for family and friends, an event everyone looked forward to attending. On Easter, he held and Easter egg hunt for the children on the southern side. As
the years passed, Tommy Ray found joy in simply sitting outside in front of his building each day, whether alone or with others, doing NOTHING!! He loved that life and he dearly loved his girls, Letonia, Breyona, Samaria and Blayke.
