MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team was named a recipient of the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

“I’m so proud of our team GPA,” said head coach Arlicia Ortiz. “It’s one of our goals every year to win the academic award, and it’s apparent that everyone is on board. Everybody maintained at least a 3.0 GPA all year. That’s such an accomplishment as a student-athlete, and I think it really shows the standard that we have for excellence in the classroom.”

The Blossoms concluded the 2025–26 academic year with an average team GPA of 3.522 to secure the award. Teams must maintain a minimum year-long GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale to qualify.

In total, 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball programs across the country earned the award for the 2025-26 academic year.
