Press release from the Hermitage School District:
The Hermitage School District is excited to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our student-athletes as we begin another outstanding competitive school year.
The Hermitage football, cheer, band, and cross country teams have been working diligently to prepare for the 2026–2027 athletic season. Long before the lights come on, the cheers begin, or the starting line is crossed, music is selected, conditioning, practicing, building teamwork, and preparing both physically and mentally for the challenges ahead.
Superintendent LaDonna Spain shared her excitement about the upcoming season and the accomplishments of Hermitage students:
“We are extremely excited about this school year and proud of what our students have already achieved. Their willingness to put in the work in this heat says so much; conditioning, practicing, and preparing for competition demonstrates the character and determination that make our students and our school district special. Athletics teaches lessons that extend far beyond the playing field—discipline, perseverance, sportsmanship. teamwork, accountability, and the importance of never giving up.”
The Hermitage School District recognizes the football, cheer, band, and cross country programs not only for their athletic efforts but also for the character, school spirit, and pride they bring to the Hermitage community. Each practice, competition, and team experience provides students with opportunities to grow as leaders, teammates, and individuals.
“Our coaches and staff have invested countless hours helping our students prepare, and we are grateful for their commitment,” Spain added. “Most importantly, we want our students to know that their hard work matters. We are proud of them for representing Hermitage, our families, and our community with pride, determination, and a commitment to excellence.”
The district encourages parents, families, alumni, and community members to support the Hermitage athletes throughout the season. Whether cheering from the sidelines, attending a meet, or celebrating our students’ accomplishments, community support plays an important role in creating a positive and successful athletic experience.
The Hermitage School District is proud of the young men and women who represent our school and community. We look forward to celebrating Hermitage student accomplishments throughout the year.
Today is a great day to be a Hermit!
Hermit Heart. Hermit Might. Hermit Pride.
