SRN invites readers across the area to ‘Post to SRN

Saline River News is testing a new feature designed to give everyone in the community and surrounding area an easier way to share local news, announcements and events.

The new Post to SRN feature is now available at the top of the Saline River News homepage, and readers are encouraged to use it anytime they have something they believe others in the area should know about.

The idea is simple:

If you would post it on social media, consider posting it to SRN too.

And you do not have to be a business owner, church leader, school employee, organization representative or experienced writer to use it.

Anyone can submit information.

That includes readers in Bradley County, Cleveland County, Drew County and other surrounding communities across Southeast Arkansas.

Maybe your child’s team won a tournament. Maybe your church is hosting an event. Maybe your business has an announcement. Maybe your civic group is holding a fundraiser. Maybe there is a school activity, community event, recognition, meeting or other local happening you believe people should know about.

SRN wants to hear about it.

The submission does not need to be written like a traditional news story or press release. Readers can simply write the information much like they would in a Facebook or other social media post — explain what is happening, include the important details and submit it.

A photo, graphic or flyer can also be included in an appropriate image format such as JPEG.

That simplicity is intentional.

Every day, people across Southeast Arkansas share useful local information on social media. Some posts reach a large audience. Others may only be seen by a small group before they are buried in the feed.

Saline River News wants to give that information another place to be seen.

The feature is especially useful for businesses, churches, schools, clubs and organizations that regularly post announcements online, but it is not limited to them. Individual residents are just as welcome to submit information.

If something matters to you and you believe it may matter to others in the area, you are invited to send it.

Submissions are reviewed before publication and do not automatically appear on the website. Saline River News retains editorial control over submitted material and may edit information as needed before publishing.

The feature is currently in a testing period, and readers are encouraged to report any problems they experience to salinerivernews@gmail.com.

To try it, visit the Saline River News homepage and look for Post to SRN at the top of the page.

Don’t let local news get lost in the social media feed. Post it to SRN too.
