Got Local News? Post It Straight to Saline River News

Saline River News has made it easier than ever for people across Bradley County and the surrounding area to share what is happening in their schools, churches, organizations, businesses and communities.

The Post to SRN feature, located at the top of SalineRiverNews.com, allows readers to submit local news, events, sports results, announcements, photos and other community information directly to SRN for review.

And we want more people to use it.

The idea is simple: If it’s news you would post on social media, post it to SRN too.

Maybe your church is hosting a fundraiser. Maybe your child’s team won a tournament. Maybe your school has students who earned an award. Perhaps your civic organization has a meeting coming up, your business has something noteworthy happening, or your community is planning an event.

Those are exactly the kinds of things we want to know about.

Using Post to SRN does not require writing a polished news article. Just tell us what is happening in the “What’s happening?” box, include the important details and upload a photo or flyer if you have one. SRN can take it from there.

There is no charge to submit community news.

The feature is designed to give local people and organizations another way to make sure their information reaches the community without having to wonder whether SRN has heard about it.

Social media is great for sharing information with people who already follow your page or happen to see a post. Saline River News gives that same information an opportunity to reach a wider local audience and remain available as part of the community’s news record.

We especially encourage submissions from:

  • Local schools, teachers, teams and student organizations
  • Churches and ministries
  • Civic clubs and nonprofit organizations
  • City and county departments
  • Community groups
  • Local businesses
  • Parents and families with newsworthy accomplishments to share
  • Anyone with legitimate local news, events or announcements

Submissions are reviewed before publication, and submitting something does not guarantee that it will be published. But if it is happening locally and matters to people in our community, we want to hear about it.

Traditional email submissions are still welcome, too. Post to SRN is simply another—and often easier—way to get information to us.

So the next time you are about to make a Facebook post about something happening at your school, church, organization, business or community, take another minute and send it to SRN too.

See something happening? Post it to SRN.
