Hermitage Mayor Highlights Fire, Police Grants and Street Improvements During Community Meet and Greet

Mayor’s Meet & Greet Q&A Recap

On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Mayor Matt Cathey hosted a Meet & Greet Q & A at the Hermitage community Center, giving residents the opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, and hear updates about our community. Several important topics were discussed, including:

HERMITAGE FIRE DEPARTMENT: The department was awarded a $160,000 grant to purchase new firefighting gear!

HERMITAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT: Updates were shared regarding a grant awarded to the department for a new police truck.

STREET IMPROVEMENTS: Mayor Cathey discussed upcoming street paving projects planned for 2027.

A COMMUNITY THAT CARES: A special thank you to everyone who came out, asked questions, shared ideas, and showed their support for our community! Hermitage is more than just a place on the map-it’s our home, and it’s the people who make it special.

LET’S KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING, HERMITAGE!

Community involvement doesn’t end when the meeting is over! We encourage everyone to stay informed, attend future city meetings, ask questions ,share ideas, and take an active role in making Hermitage the best community it can be.

Hermitage is OUR home, and building its future is something we can all take part in. Together, we can make a difference–one conversation, one improvement, and one neighbor at a time!
