HERMITAGE, Ark. — The City of Hermitage is inviting local children to help prepare for the Christmas season with a community ornament workshop planned for November.
The Christmas Ornament Workshop will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Hermitage Community Center. All Hermitage children are invited to attend and spend the evening making Christmas ornaments that will later be placed on the City of Hermitage Christmas tree.
Cookies and hot chocolate will also be served during the workshop.
The ornaments will become part of the city’s holiday celebration when Hermitage holds its Christmas tree lighting on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Children will have an opportunity to help decorate the city tree and add the ornaments they created during the November workshop.
Santa Claus is also expected to be at the Dec. 1 tree lighting for pictures with children.
Hermitage City Hall said additional information about the Spirit of Christmas Tree Lighting, Spirit of Christmas Pageant and Christmas parade will be released at a later date.
City officials are encouraging families to take part in the ornament workshop and help make the decorations that will be displayed on the community Christmas tree throughout the holiday season.
