Warren City Park turned pink Saturday as community members gathered for Pink in the Park, a breast cancer awareness event hosted by the Bradley County Medical Center Radiology Department.
The event brought together local organizations, businesses and residents to support those currently battling breast cancer while also honoring the memory of loved ones who have died from the disease.
The BCMC Radiology Department also used the event to encourage preventative care, with several screening mammograms scheduled during the day.
Pink in the Park featured a variety of family-friendly activities, including face painting, popcorn, snow cones and a bounce house. Local vendors were also on hand throughout the event.
Organizers thanked Commercial Bank, which served snow cones, along with Chapel Woods Health and Rehabilitation, BCMC employees, Warren Mayor Gregg Reep, the Wallace family, Dr. Biggers and area businesses for helping make the event possible.

The gathering served as both a celebration of survivors and those still fighting breast cancer and a time to remember those who have been lost to the disease.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and BCMC continues to encourage area residents who are due for a screening mammogram to schedule one.
