The Snowden Waterfowl Center of Excellence at the University of Arkansas at Monticello will host its inaugural Symposium and Student Showcase on Tuesday, Oct. 6, highlighting current waterfowl research and the work of UAM students.
The event will be held at the Spivey Conference Center at the UAM Forest Health Research Center. Doors will open at 12:15 p.m. for a welcome reception and poster session, with the main program scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m.
Dr. Douglas Osborne and his students will share some of their latest waterfowl research during the afternoon. Attendees will also get a first look at the Osborne Lab’s latest Annual Waterfowl Research Report.
The program will include opening remarks, recognition of donors, a review of the Snowden Center’s past year and research spotlights featuring alumni and current students. Closing remarks are scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
The symposium marks the first event of its kind for the Snowden Waterfowl Center of Excellence and will provide an opportunity for students, researchers, supporters and members of the public to learn more about ongoing waterfowl research at UAM.
The welcome reception and poster session begins at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, with the symposium running from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Spivey Conference Center.
