MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team returned to Great American Conference action Tuesday evening, hosting Ouachita Baptist University inside Steelman Fieldhouse. The Weevils fell to the Tigers in three sets, 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.
FIRST SET (25-19 OUA, OUA leads 1-0)
Arkansas-Monticello opened the match with an early 3-1 advantage before Ouachita Baptist battled back to take control. The Weevils cut the deficit to 19-17, but the Tigers responded with a 5-0 run before taking the opening set, 25-19.
SECOND SET (25-17 OUA, OUA leads 2-0)
The teams traded points early in the second set, battling through an 11-11 tie. Ouachita Baptist followed with a 5-0 run to take control and maintained its advantage down the stretch, winning 25-17.
THIRD SET (25-18 OUA, OUA wins 3-0)
The third set remained tightly contested early, with UAM taking an 11-10 advantage. Ouachita Baptist answered with five straight points to regain control before closing out the set, 25-18, and the match, 3-0.
