MONTICELLO, Ark. — Warren City Council member Latanza Atkins has been recognized as a University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) Black Alumni honoree.

The NAACP Drew County Branch announced the recognition in an October 10 social media post, congratulating Atkins on the honor.

Atkins, who serves on the Warren City Council, is also the religious chair of the NAACP Drew County Branch.

NAACP President Clarissa Pace congratulated Atkins on the recognition, which highlights her connection to UAM and its Black alumni community.

The honor adds to Atkins’ record of involvement in local government and community organizations in southeast Arkansas.
