CROSSETT, Ark.—Montgomery “Monty” Kilcrease was recently awarded a $1000 scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). Kilcrease is a student of the HVAC program at the University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-Crossett (UAM-CTC) and is currently pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in General Technology degree. Kilcrease was one of 250 outstanding NTHS members to receive the Jon H. Poteat Scholarship. Scholarship recipients were selected based on their ability to exemplify the seven attributes of NTHS: skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship and leadership.
“Monty is most deserving of this award,” Linda Rushing, vice chancellor of UAM-CTC, said. “He has continuously displayed a high level of dedication to his chosen program while serving as a shining example of work ethic.”
Since 1984, NTHS has been the honor society for Career and Technical Education (CTE), serving high schools, career centers, community and technical colleges and universities. NTHS exists to advocate for and empower all students to pursue the technical and academic skills needed to build their careers and a skilled global workforce. In partnership with student leadership organizations and industry partners, NTHS has awarded nearly $3 million in scholarships to remarkable CTE students.
