Wesley George recently competed in the finals of Southwest Arkansas High School Rodeo Association in Texarkana, AR hosted at Four States Fairgrounds. The finals rodeo is the culmination of a series of 16 rodeos hosted from August to May. He competed in several roping events, winning Champion Senior Boys Breakaway Roping, Champion Senior Ribbon Roping, Reserve Champion Tie Down Calf Roping, and Top 10 Header in team roping.
Prizes included a saddle, saddle pad and blanket, Classic rope bag, rope, and a custom buckle for each event. Wesley has roped in SWAHSRA for 2 years. He also competes in Riding for the Brand rodeo series. Earlier this spring he took part in a roping clinic with NFR qualifier Justin Smith. He won the roping competition hosted at the conclusion of the clinic.
Wesley is the 16 year old son of John and Dichelle George. His dad is his dedicated practice partner and coach, while his mom manages videoing and keeping up with the times. He has just completed 10th grade, he also enjoys welding class at SEACBEC. He is an active member of Grace Cowboy Church.
