Pine Bluff, AR – Jefferson Regional has announced additional details about its new rehabilitation and behavioral health hospital being built in Jefferson County through its partnership with LifePoint Health.
According to Jefferson Regional President & CEO Brian Thomas, the new 76-bed facility will be named Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital. It will be constructed on existing hospital property close to the White Hall Health Complex, which is located at 1600 West Holland. Groundbreaking is expected to take place in the fall of 2022.
The Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital will be an approximately 85,000 square foot space, which will include 40 inpatient rehabilitation beds and 36 inpatient behavioral health beds.
“Kindred Healthcare, recently acquired by LifePoint Health, has managed our inpatient rehab program at Jefferson Regional for almost 30 years,” said President & CEO Brian Thomas, “and we’re excited about continuing that relationship in a new facility with more beds. With increasing demand for mental and behavioral health resources in Southeast Arkansas, the new facility will address many of those needs.”
The new hospital is expected to open in 2024.
