ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University football team has received its fourth national ranking of the 2022 preseason, this time coming in at No. 17 in the D2Football.com Preseason Top 25 Poll.
The Tigers make a seven-spot leap from where they ended last year at No. 24 in the final D2Football.com poll of the 2021 season.
Ouachita returns 14 all-conference performers from last year’s 9-2 squad, including two All-America selections. 10 of the 11 starters return on offense, and six starters return on defense.
Other national preseason rankings for the Tigers include No. 16 by the College Football Network, No. 27 by the College Football America Yearbook, and No. 19 by the American Football Coaches Association.
The 2022 season gets underway in just over a week. The Tigers travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma for a September 1 clash with Oklahoma Baptist. Kickoff set for 6 p.m.
Two Warren Lumberjacks are part of the OBU football program, Keemontrae McKnight and Riley Cornish.
