Mackie Bryant Meeks, age 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born July 10, 1948 to Mayo and Betty Kennedy Meeks in Bastrop, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Johnny Meeks, Vivian Mitchell, and Jimbo Meeks.
He owned and operated Mac’s Body and Glass from 1977 to 2013. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp but loved his family most of all. Anyone who knew him loved him, anyone who didn’t know him would in a matter of minutes because his favorite pastime was talking. He always had a story to tell and no matter how short it was, he could make it long.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen Halligan Meeks; his children, Stephen (Ashley) Barnett of Bauxite, Arkansas, Kenna (Jerry) Reynolds, of Rogers, Arkansas, Michael (Barbie) Meeks of Harrison, Arkansas, and Chris Barnett of Warren, Arkansas; siblings, Jackie (Jeff) Decker of Gilmer, Texas and Sue (Buck) Evans of Clifty, Arkansas; grandchildren, Richard (Marci) Reynolds of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Haley (Brandon) Long of Haskell, Arkansas, Russell (Rebecca) Reynolds of Bentonville, Arkansas, John (Lexi) Meeks of Harrison, Arkansas, Carlee Meeks of Harrison, Arkansas, Taylor (Tyler) Boyd of Warren, Arkansas, Eli Barnett of Bauxite, Arkansas, Rollie Barnett of Warren, Arkansas, and Rachel Barnett of Bauxite, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Bryn Reynolds, and Jace and Sadie Long; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special little dog, Daisy Mae.
The family would like to express a huge thank you to Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas for their exceptional care of their daddy and the respect and accommodations they extended to the family.
Graveside service was 2:00 pm, Monday, at Union Cemetery in Rye, Arkansas.
