The Warren School District has released a statement recognizing the hard work and dedication of their media specialists on National Librarian Day. According to the district, the role of a media specialist has evolved to encompass much more than simply checking out books.
In addition to traditional library duties, media specialists in the Warren School District also assist the tech department with technology issues and promote the schools’ social media presence. These professionals are an integral part of the school community, and their contributions are highly valued.
The district recognized several outstanding media specialists, including Cassidy Cathey at Eastside Elementary, Lee Ann James at Brunson Middle School, Sharon McClellan at the middle school, and Heidi Lassiter at the high school. These individuals have gone above and beyond in their roles, demonstrating a commitment to their students and their profession.
