Alfredia Hampton, 1943-2023

Alfredia Hampton, 79, of Johnsville, passed away April 22, 2023. Born October 4, 1943, he was a son of the late Emanuel and Artie Hampton.  He was the youngest of twelve children born to this union.

He attended the Vicks school system and was a member of Greater Hampton AME Church. He was a Mason member of the Burning Bush Lodge #356 and a member of the 32nd degree. He retired from Potlatch Corp. after 40 years of service. He loved fishing, deer and fox hunting.

Alfredia met and married the love of his life, Vera Lee Belin. The two became one and built a life together for 59 years. They were blessed with six beautiful children.

He was also preceded in death by two children, Terry Hampton, Cheryl Hampton; siblings, George Ed, Theodore Roosevelt, Ira, Maeola, C.W., Mozella, Calvin, Ozella, Eugene and Carl Emmit.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera Hampton; children, Brian Hampton (Angela), Torrey Hampton, Felicia Gray all of Warren, TaKeisha Witherspoon (T-Argo) of Conway, Sandra Brathwaite (Felix) of Rockford, IL.; sister, Bernice Hampton of Little Rock; one nephew raised as a brother, Harold Hampton (Annie Nell) of Johnsville; sister-in-law, Joyce Ann Belin (LaRon) of Warren; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 special nieces, one special nephew, one special God-daughter, Tamika Robinson of Warren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was April 29 at Greater Hampton AME Church in Johnsville. Burial was in Hampton Cemetery, Johnsville.  Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
