Outstanding Warren athletes celebrated at 2023 Lumberjack All-Sports Awards Ceremony; Dawson Harton crowned Deno Nichols Award Winner

WARREN, Ark. – Lumberjack Arena was the site of Monday evening’s annual Lumberjack All-Sports Awards ceremony. Several hundred parents and student-athletes filled the venue, eagerly anticipating the announcement of the evening’s honorees. Athletic Director Bo Hembree set the tone with a warm welcome, expressing his pride in the accomplishments of the Lumberjack athletes.

The announcement of the Class of 2023 Lumberjack Hall of Fame inductees, a prestigious honor reserved for individuals who have left an indelible mark on Warren High School athletics were announced by Warren Mayor and Committee organizer Gregg Reep. He had the honor of announcing this year’s inductees.

Among the inductees was the late Ernie Martin, a basketball star from the 1950s whose exceptional skills and sportsmanship captivated fans during his time at Warren High School.

Randy Rawls, a dedicated booster whose unwavering support has uplifted countless student-athletes over the years, also received this prestigious recognition.

Lotoya Marshall, an exceptional track athlete, secured her spot in the Lumberjack Hall of Fame through her remarkable achievements and dedication to her craft.

Kendrick Newton and Danny Brazil, standout football players, were also honored for their outstanding contributions to the Lumberjack football program.

Following the Hall of Fame announcement, coaches from each sport took the stage to acknowledge the achievements of their respective teams and individual athletes throughout the season. Each coach delivered a comprehensive review of their team’s performance, highlighting memorable moments, record-breaking achievements, and the relentless spirit displayed by their athletes.

The coaches proudly announced the recipients of various awards, including those for Tennis, Golf, Cheerleading, Soccer, Softball, Baseball, Basketball, Track, and Football. The All-State and All-Conference athletes were recognized, showcasing the exceptional talent that Warren High School boasts in various sports.

Coaches presented the letterman awards, a symbolic recognition of dedication, hard work, and commitment. These awards signify the athletes’ perseverance and represent their official inclusion in the illustrious Lumberjack sports legacy.

Dawson Harton was named the 2023 Deno Nichols Award winner.

The evening reached its pinnacle with the announcement of the Deno Nichols 2023 Award Winner. This prestigious honor, regarded as the top athletic award at Warren High, was bestowed upon senior Dawson Harton, an outstanding athlete who exemplified the true spirit of a Lumberjack throughout his high school career.
