Pedaling through the land of pink tomatoes during the 2023 Tour de Tomato

WARREN, Ark. – On Saturday, May 20, 2023, the ever-growing 2023 Tour de Tomato Bicycle Ride took place, attracting nearly 100 riders eager to partake in the event. The ride offered three options for participants to choose from: a challenging 62-mile route, a moderate 40-mile route, and a shorter 14-mile route. The longest route took riders through several Bradley County communities, starting from Warren and passing through Hermitage, Ingalls, and Johnsville before looping back to Warren.

To ensure the riders’ comfort and well-being, strategically placed break stations were set up along the routes, staffed by dedicated volunteers. This exciting bicycle ride served as the official kickoff to the 2023 Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival, an event celebrating the region’s iconic pink tomatoes. As a memento, participants were rewarded with a commemorative race t-shirt, symbolizing their memorable experience in the 2023 Tour de Tomato Bicycle Ride.

  1. Great pics and article! First year I’ve missed the since I pestered my fellow class of 1970 alum Denisa Pennington to add a bike ride to the PTF. I will be back next year to ride the metric course when I’m 71, along with lots of others, I hope.
