Library student art and writing showcase extended through May 27

The Warren Branch Library has extended the viewing of Bradley County student’s art and writing (short stories and poems) competition through the week of May 22-27 by popular demand. GFWC Warren Woman’s Club members urge the public to visit the display in honor of our students.

The Audrey Swope Writing Contest consist of creative short stories and poetry from K-12 grade students in Warren and Hermitage while the Ten Penny Art Contest features students in 9th -12 grades. The four categories of art mediums include paint (oils and acrylics); drawing (pen and ink, pencil, colored pencil); multi-medium (crayon, crapac pastel, chalk, charcoal, scratch art); and watercolor. Twenty Four students participated in the Audrey Swope Writing Contest and 15 students presented Ten Penny Art.

Glenda Cross is chair of the Woman’s Club art program and Jennifer Taylor is chairing the exhibit at the library. Jonalyn Reep coordinated the writing contests and Sandra Gatling supervised the art entries.

The public is encouraged to attend this display and show your support in honoring these creative students.
