Sanders is a native of Stamps and Magnolia. He received his bachelor’s degree at Henderson State University in education and music education.

He was the assistant Magnolia Middle School and Magnolia High School band director starting in 2014. In 2019, he became the head MMS band director. In 2021, he was named the interim MHS band director and in fall of that year, he was named the head MHS band director.

At Warren, he said support is needed for the Band Parents Association to buy instruments and supplies. The Band Parents also mans the concession stand at football games as a fundraiser for the group.

“Most of our students are low-income. A child might not have the opportunity to buy some instruments,†Sanders said.
