The Warren High School Lumberjack Tennis Team took on a formidable Star City Bulldog team on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Warren’s tennis athletes delivered a series of standout performances during the intense competition, leaving their mark in both singles and doubles exhibition matches.
In singles action, Anna Arroyo set the tone for her team with a dominant 6-0 victory. Her outstanding performance was mirrored by Anna Mitchell, who also secured a 6-0 win. Javier Garcia contributed to the singles success, posting a solid 6-3 win, while Alley Vance battled her way to a 6-4 victory, adding to Warren’s singles exhibition triumphs.
Doubles exhibition play proved equally exciting, with the duo of Caper Groves and Braylen Watson pulling off a hard-fought 7-5 victory. Javier Garcia and Angel Herron combined their skills to secure a 6-3 win in the doubles category.
The outstanding efforts of Anna Grace Mitchell and Javier Garcia earned them the prestigious title of Saline River Chronicle Players of the Day.
Coach Micah Richey commended the remarkable achievements of Anna Grace Mitchell and Javier Garcia, stating, “Anna Grace and Javier show more and more improvements on a daily basis. They show what it truly means to work at your craft.”
