Warren Lumberjacks finish successful season at 4A State Golf Tournament

JONESBORO, Ark. – In a highly competitive showdown at the Sage Meadows Course in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the Warren Lumberjacks earned a very respectable 4th place finish out of a field of 12 talented teams at the 4A State Golf tournament held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

With the picturesque backdrop of the Sage Meadows Course, which has gained a reputation for its challenging layout and stunning scenery, the Lumberjacks gave it their all, capping off a successful season as 8-4A Conference Champions for the second consecutive year.

The standout performance of the day for the Warren Lumberjacks came from their very own Carson Slaughter. Slaughter delivered an impressive performance, carding a 77 Tuesday, which earned him a commendable 11th place finish out of the 70 total players who teed off from all corners of the State of Arkansas. He was named to the All-State team.

While Slaughter’s performance was a highlight for the team, it was Cole Kirby of Brookland posted the day’s low shot total with a 65.

The Warren Lumberjacks fielded a formidable team for the 4A State Tournament, with the following golfers representing their school:

  • Carson Slaughter
  • Rhett Clanton
  • Maxx McGaha
  • Landon Milton
