Warren Municipal Building to be closed October 9 for Columbus Day; Council to meet October 10

The City of Warren announced Thursday that the Municipal Building will be closed on Monday, October 9, 2023, in observance of Columbus Day.

Columbus Day, celebrated on the second Monday of October each year, commemorates Christopher Columbus’s historic arrival in the Americas in 1492. As a federal holiday, it leads to the closure of government offices, banks, and many businesses across the nation.

Despite the closure of the Municipal Building, trash collection will proceed as scheduled on Monday, October 9, 2023. The Department of Public Works will maintain its regular trash pickup routes on that day.

Residents are kindly reminded to place their trash containers out for collection on Columbus Day as they typically would on any other Monday.

The Warren City Council will meet on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building for their council meeting.
