WARREN, Ark. – Warren Fire Department Assistant Chief Larry Hayes put a lifetime career behind him Tuesday as he was honored with a retirement reception at the Warren Municipal Building.
Current and former firefighters from Warren, Bradley County Rural and Monticello fire departments gathered with friends and family to honor Hayes.

Hayes, 47, is a Warren native. He was hired in 1994 at WFD and worked his way up the ranks during 29 years and three months of service.
He also served on Bradley County Rural Fire Department for about 10 years.
He was in the flooring business for 29 years and owned and operated Hayes Flooring for five years.
He currently lives in Conway with his wife, Kimberly, and their two sons, Brody Hayes and Cole Wolfe.
“He was an outstanding firefighter,” Mayor Gregg Reep said about Hayes. “Our Fire Department is very important to the city of Warren.”
“I appreciate the job and the camaraderie of the guys,” Hayes said.
