WARREN, Ark. – The Warren Civil Service Commission convened at the Warren Municipal Building Council Chambers on Thursday evening, making six new hires across the Warren Fire Department and Warren Police Department. The meeting was chaired by Phyllis Barnes, alongside Commissioner Janice Rochell, Commissioner Terry Golden, and the newest Commissioner, Josue Escamilla. Absent from the proceedings was Commissioner Nick Calloway.

One of the primary focuses of the meeting centered around the consideration of applicants for full-time firefighter vacancies within the Warren Fire Department. Two individuals were under review.
Landon Jolly, a non-certified applicant, has served as a volunteer firefighter already. Although not certified, he will undergo training at the Fire Academy. The vote was unanimous on his hiring.
Joseph Adam Cameron, a certified firefighter, was also welcomed into the ranks of the Warren Fire Department. With prior experience and the necessary certifications, Cameron’s appointment was met with unanimous approval from the commission.
The hiring decisions then extended to the Warren Police Department, where four individuals were considered for positions.
Joshua Craig Henley, a certified police officer, secured a part-time position within the Warren Police Department.
John Oscar Hudson III, a non-certified applicant, was appointed to a full-time position with the Warren Police Department. Hudson will undergo training at the Police Academy to meet the required standards for the role at a future date.
Lee Charles Ellis III, a certified officer, joined the Warren Police Department in a full-time capacity.
Completing the list of hires for the Warren Police Department, Cody Lane Hoffman, also a certified officer, was welcomed as a full-time member of the force.
All six hires were met with unanimous approval from the Civil Service Commission. The hires will be reported to the Warren City Council Monday night, but do not require the Council’s approval.
