WARREN, Ark. – In official court filings in Bradley County’s Tenth District Monday, January 8, 2024, James Scott Pope, a 41-year-old white male of Banks, has been charged with felony rape of a minor stemming from an incident on or about June 5, 2023.

Court documents state that Pope unlawfully and feloniously, being the parent or guardian of a minor, engaged in sexual intercourse with said minor, a Class Y felony. The alleged crime is punishable by imprisonment for not less than 10, but no more than 40 years or life.
Pope was arrested by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department Monday, January 8 according to court documents. His bond was set at $50,000 by Circuit Judge Crews Puryear. Pope posted the $50,000 commercial bond and was released. He has been ordered to appear in Court again January 16.
