PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Warren Lumberjack Men’s Basketball team displayed determination and grit in a closely contested battle against top four rival from Conference 8-4A, Watson Chapel, on Wednesday night, January 31. Despite a strong effort, the Lumberjacks fell just short, with the final score favoring Watson Chapel 63-55.

1st Quarter
The game got off to a fast-paced start with an early three-pointer by Watson Chapel, but the Lumberjacks quickly responded. Antonio Jordan showcased his skills with some tenacious work inside, narrowing the score to 3-2 in favor of Watson Chapel. Guard Tramond Miller then maneuvered through the Chapel defense to sink a shot, giving Warren a 6-5 lead with 4:11 remaining in the first quarter. The battle continued, and at the 2:30 mark, Jordan buried a deep three, allowing Warren to lead 13-11 going into the second.
2nd Quarter
The second quarter saw a brief offensive dry spell for the Lumberjacks, allowing Watson Chapel to retake the lead. However, Tramond Miller’s layup tied the game once again at 17-17. Jordan and Jayden Ridgell combined forces, with Jordan sinking another three at the 4:30 mark. The Lumberjacks headed to halftime with a 29-24 lead.
3rd Quarter
Jordan continued to be a force in the third quarter, scoring and drawing a foul in the opening minute. Despite facing some foul trouble, Jordan managed to help keep the Wildcats in a close contest. Chapel briefly regained the lead at 39-37, but Jordan swiftly tied it up again for Warren.

4th Quarter
The final quarter started with Antonio Jordan draining a three, tying the game at 46-46. Unfortunately, Jordan fouled out with 4:13 remaining, providing an opportunity for Watson Chapel to extend their lead. Despite late contributions from Colton Steen and Jayden Ridgell, Warren ultimately fell short, and the game concluded with a 63-55 victory for Watson Chapel.

The Lumberjacks’ overall record now stands at 7-4, with a 6-3 record in the 8-4A Conference. Currently occupying the third position in the Conference behind Mills and Watson Chapel, the Jacks look ahead to their next challenge. They will be back in action on Friday as they host Crossett at Lumberjack Arena, immediately following the Lady Jacks vs. Crossett game starting at 5:30 p.m.
